Having been back in Adelaide for all most two weeks now I'm blown away by the large amount of junk I allowed in my life. Take for instance the countless hours of TV that have been wasted at the very least I could have been watching the news. The constant need for entertainment is amazing here walking into a bookstore I was amazed to see that all of the books in the most popular section were picture books no wonder I can't spell and my grammars shot.
The plan is to steer away from TV as much as possible and replace that time with good soul convicting books, all ready this has alienated me in the house as I spend a lot of time avoiding what is probably the only family activity we have.

Whiles I was reading today Shriek 3 was on the TV, my nieces were over so I didn't want to leave the room so I sat and half watched half read. The convictions blew me away when stuck in a situation the good guys decided that violence was the only answer and start to fight their way out of the situation. Near the end there seems to be hope as the "villains" decide that they would rather be doing better things and put down their weapons, however one villain who has clearly been a victim of society decides to try to take over the kingdom he is promptly hit by a huge tower and the good guys Cheer and start to mock him. What sort of message is this sending my niece that some times the evil people just need to be killed?

perhaps I'm reading to much into it but it doesn't encourage me much that this is the sort of family entertainment a year ago I would have felt was good for my nieces.

Wow it's been a long time since blogging.
So I'm apparent still a soldier as you can't step down from this position weather that's a good thing or not is yet to be decided.
Term is over this week and kettles starts (this is the time where the Salvation Army begs for money out on the street)
The term has been fun, hard, some times challenging and all together good. I look forward to the start of next term.
I currently have no plans for Christmas but am thinking that it needs to involve a whole lot of prayer.
Missing home a bit not sure what or where home is so I miss a lot of places all at the same time.
Considering starting a bible studie group in the Balmoral next year so please pray about that.

From Jackie to me to you:
This one drove me to ages of meditation with God to find some sort of rest, but here's the basic sum up of what took me weeks.

It isn't fair why is it that I was born in a wealthy Australian family, with good health, speaking the main political language and being able to travel any where in the world.
Why is it that I was able to make hundreds maybe even thousands of mistakes in my childhood when for many people just one would mean their death. I could have just as easily been born in North Korea where children are forced to pick up scraps from the road or China as the second Child where the government would murder me before I'd entered this world. I could have easily been born into an alcoholic family or in a country so poor I would be sold to prostitution.
Why is life not fair, I can see, hear, breath and not have to worry about being killed by some extremist organization, I have never been forced to watch my family being shot for not renouncing Christ as many have and still do.
As Paul said in Romans 1 14 "I am debtor both to the Greeks, and to the Barbarians; both to the wise, and to the unwise." I am in debt to the poor, weak and the lost. If I don't stand for justice, this amazing opportunity I have been given will become no more than a slap in the face of Jesus who died for me and a wasted life.

Street preaching:

The other day we took part in open street evangelism (I say took part but I had no choice). Any one who knows me well will know that I not only don't do street preaching but hate it. This time we went about preaching in a whole new way we formed a circle and wen't about praising God this worship was not for the people but for God. We respectfully shared out testimonies, scripture and a short sermon to any one who wanted to listen that included us. The meeting was done in such a way that we didn't push the Gospel on any one but invited them to share in the meeting with us. Most forms of street preaching I've seen or taken part of have involved preaching to "the other people" whiles Christians handed out Gospel tracts I see that as being counter productive. What I experienced the other day is the way I invision all churches, getting rid of their buildings that waste space,money and effort and having meetings outside. I am very glad that dispite my protests I was forced to take part. Praise God

About a year ago I came to the conclusion that I was not a soldier IHQ didn't want me to be one and I didn't think it necessary to help spread the gospel so I stepped down, this has been great for me and taken a huge burden that was on my back. Recently I decided to make this official this is proving to be very hard. People seem to think that this is a great big tragedy instead of a step forward in my walk with God. Please pray that people would be understanding and please pray for me in this new walk in life. I should say that whiles I am not a soldier any more I do love soldier ship and encourage it for anyone who is called.

Living in the slums I've learnt one thing churches are still unwelcome to homeless and drug addicts. This is not to say that I was not welcomed or that any one would not be welcomed and make Friends but every thing is so clean and every one smells so nice you can't help but feel that you don't fit in.

My name is Peter I am from Australia, I was a mission worker in China for just under 2 years. I consider Hong Kong my home and hope to get there for Christmas. My family live in Australia. When I'm in Australia I do not attend a church (building) but live in a Acts 2 based house. I enjoy all kinds of music but realy get into old metal.

remember the good old days
I remember the good old days working in Asia and going to Australia to visit my family and friends not a care in the world.
The other day we had a debt collector on our level abusing one of the guy's. I couldn't bring myself to jump into the fight he was a skinny user so I could have taken him down if I needed. Last night we went to street combat and I couldn't bring myself to talk to any one finally my partner bullied me into talking to some one. Generally I am not what I would call a pansy I a bible smuggler for goodness sake I break the law for fun I have stared down mass crowds of people wanting to hit me (OK so that was just in high school) I'm not an advocate for violence but why have I become such a wimp?

So the other day I was sitting in the pub with some of my slum mates drinking (coke :P) we came to the pub to watch a UFC game on the TV and it dawned on me that we had just by being in the pub redeemed the whole scene from being a place to drink to a place of entertainment (I got to eat my first chicken wings to)

I am now living in Canada in a place called Vancouver. I live on a street called East Haistings (if you want to know more do a tourist search for the road it's classed as where not to go)

I am in college for a year studying biblical studies and practical ministry's my class is very small just 8 of us. So to start everything back here's a few photo's.

So this blog has been empty for a while now I've been mostly working or as I like to call it fighting to get into War College. Living in a Christian community house has been both hard and great, I work 6 day's a week (it was 7 day's but that was unbiblical and not healthy.)
Today we watched obsession a documentary about extreme Muslims one thing stood out very clearly to me, as a Christian sadly I have to look to these Muslims who at an early age are willing to die for their God. They live and breath religion and refuse to compromise their faith. any thoughts?

This appeared in the Advertiser the other day and it got me thinking about how much the Muslims are an example (in a strange way) of how hearts need to be towards Chritianity this man had no problem with being killed for his cause how much should we be for the gospel.

ONE of nine suspects in Australia's largest alleged terrorist conspiracy told his mother he was about to enter paradise, a Sydney court has been told.

The committal hearing for the nine Sydney men was told that Mazen Touma had told his mother "Allah's satisfaction is more important than yours".

Crown prosecutor Wendy Abraham, QC, told Penrith Local Court Mr Touma had allegedly told a friend his mother had disapproved of his plan to die in a jihad.

"He said jihad was an obligation for every Muslim and that he did not need her permission," Ms Abraham told the court.

"It is alleged he said his mother should be patient because tomorrow her children would be in paradise.

"He spoke of Allah giving him a paradise for martyrdom."

In her opening address, Ms Abraham told the court the nine suspects – Mohammed Ali Elomar, Mazen Touma, Abdul Rakib Hasan, Khaled Cheikho, Moustafa Cheikho, Khaled Sharrouf, Mirsad Mulahalilovic, Omar Baladjam and Mohammed Jamal – had the ingredients and instructions to construct highly sensitive explosives capable of killing and causing massive damage.

We now have people like Robbie Williams and Madonna who are clearly not Christian and going to Hell being key people in the fight for justice. If we do not cry out for justice the very rocks will cry out. The rocks are not just rocks but "normal" every day people if we do not cry out nature will cry out in response to our lack.
This is short end of a long conversation and I hope it makes sense, I guess it's a bit like Jackie Pullinger said "Isn't it a shame that the music industry has to tell Christians that we are going to make poverty history, shouldn't we all ready be doing it"

I want to thank God for a few people:

Tim: For those of you who know Tim will know exactly why I want to thank God for him since I have been in Australia he has done nothings else but help me giving my rides to work interviews, being some one to talk to and always being there to help out in any way. There are very few things that my mate Tim wouldn't do to help some one in need and I thank God for that.

Lux: Seeing as the people who read this are mostly Canadian and Australian most of you will know Lux, she is by far the most patient and giving person I know. This week I got to see her in action hanging out with the homeless people of Adelaide and sharing the gospel. One day when I was in Secondary school some one told me that I should look at some one older than me and ask my self "do I want to be like them when I am their age?" This question was what got me out of retail and out of my last labour job, when I looked at my managers I imagined just how disappointed I would be if became them. Long story short when I look at Lux I can easily say that yes I would be happy to be like her when I reach her age. Allways giving never expecting to receive she has accomplished a lot in life and clearly will accomplish more.

So I thank God for these two people in my life who have made the journey so much more fulfilling.

Soon after arriving in Miaoshou, John and Betty Stam were bound with ropes that cut deeply into their wrists, then stripped of their outer clothing, leaving them in their underwear. John was tied to a bedpost throughout the night, while Betty was allowed to attend to the needs of her baby. The next morning they were paraded through the town, with the whole population rallied to come and witness the execution of the “foreign devils.” The Communists cursed and ridiculed them as they were marched through the streets. The procession wound its way up a small hill, called Eagle Hill, to a line of pine trees.

A huge sword was in the hands of one of the young Communists. John spoke only a few words as he knelt on one knee. Probably only his wife understood what he was saying. The bodies of John and Betty Stam were buried in a small Christian graveyard in the suburbs of Wuhu City, in Anhui Province.

Remarkably, on the same day that news of the Stams’ death reached America, John’s father, the Rev. Peter Stam, received a letter from his son that had been posted from China many weeks before. In his letter he told about the threat of the Communists, but reiterated his faith and commitment to serve God in China regardless of the cost. John Stam repeated a poem written by another China missionary, J.W. Vinson, who had himself been captured by bandits. The bandits asked Vinson if he was afraid to die. Vinson replied, “No! If you shoot straight, I shall go straight to heaven!” His captors did shoot straight, and Vinson entered heaven as one who “loved not his life unto death.” Earlier, Vinson had penned this poem, which Stam now quoted to his father:

Well I couldn't stay away from this blogging thing:
I have now been in Australia, Adelaide for just under two weeks living in a Christian community house thanks to Anthony and Andrea who have invested into my life and let me stay here. I am truly blessed to have so many people investing in my life.

I have noticed some things. I am to comfortable. Although I don't consider anything we do in Asia as extreme in any way I am finding that in the west it is to easy to "live a normal life" go to work go to worship and then back to work again and I don't even have a job yet.
What a daily fight it is to live in a blessed country like Australia and not become as blind and lost as the sinner we are called to save.

I would like to thank every one that has supported me these last 12 months.
Many people have invested time, money and prayers into what I have done.
During this time God has used me to give 20,000 pastors a bible, this is a really rough figure based on the average amount of books I moved each day, it may be several hundred more or less. Whatever the real amount is it is only because of your prayers and you have been directly involved in this thank you.

This year has been incredible for me and God has done more than I could ever have imagined.

On Wednesday I will be flying back to Australia and then hopefully in 8 month going to Canada. Whiles I am in Australia this blog will not be used much if at all it was only ever a way of keeping people informed of what was happening whiles in Asia.

That means that more bibles will be going into China. On Sunday a group of the Viners are going to go into China with us this should be great. Jan 31 I move back to Australia to work untill September where God willing I will go to War college.

This is so late but wow this is 2007.
I didn't write one of those welcome to 2007 happy new year speeches because to be frank over here it's hard to tell the difference between 06 and 07.
Last Sunday we had a great meeting and the message was amazing and clear if we wanted God to fill us and use us in 2007 we needed to empty our selfs of everything else because for most people we are already full.
The whole church has dedicated the month of January to pray for the rest of the year and I can feel that this year is going to be something great, we are going through the bible together aiming to read the whole bible in one year, this is a great thing in it self but when the whole church is doing this together and everyone is reading the same part of scripture as your are every day it makes a tremendous difference.
So God bless you and use you all in 2007.

I sent this out on E-mail but thought some people might not be on my mailing list (if you would like to be just send me your details)

During my 12 months here I have been able to provide (extremely roughly) 18,000 pastors with a study bible this means that 18,000 church's have been blessed this past year as a direct result of your prayer's, thank you. Having never seen the pastors who receive these books I can only share with you the joy that I have heard "illegal" Christians have when they finally receive the book created by the God that they serve.
Thank you for your support in this ministry, it has been an amazing year and a great experience. I pray that you will all find time during the rush of this season to remember the birth of Jesus and more importantly the sacrifice of the very same child so that we may be free and that you would find the time to share this with some one who does not yet know it.

The new year brings many exciting things, I will be spending a lot of time in Australia preparing for a year of training to better serve Asia. I hope to serve God in Australia for eight months spending this time spreading the good news of Jesus to any one who will listen and working earning funding then move onto Canada for training.
My main concern of this is that for so many years of my life Australia has been home to me, I now consider Asia as my home and do not want to get comfortable and waste a year on self indulgent comfort Australia is just as much a battle field as Asia and I must continue to fight.

1 in every 5 people live in communist China, the Devil it seems is not as stupid as we would like to believe now 1 in every 5 people can not own a bible and have to be ministered to by a pastor that does not know the bible any where near as well as an "official pastor of the west".
And yet in this situation we are seeing God move in mighty way's. More bibles are going into China, more people are getting saved and a personal dream of mine HK Chinese are fighting in this war as well by taking books into China.
Sadly many people in the free church do not think that preaching and supplying people with Gods teaching is an option if the government does not allow it. It would seem daunting to many as it was to me to go against "the church" to help the hurting part of it's own body but we can all take comfort in two things:
1.Looking at Christian history we can see that Christianity would not have survived with out the breaking of laws that do not take into consideration the word of God.
2. 70% of the body of Christ is under persecution so as a whole it would seem that Christianity is an offensive, illegal believe not concerned about the breaking of laws set up against them but spreading the word of God in all ways possible.

My bus trip

On the way back 3 girls probably about 13 years old got onto the bus they were drunk to the stage that one of them vomited on the bus. Wearing what I could only describe as not much it occurred to me just how lost this world is and in desperate need of Jesus.

Just an update on how everything is:
I have been working in HK for around about a year now (I still can't speak Chinese)
On Jan 31 I will be going to Australia to start working in order to save up to go to War college in September. I know and believe and can testify that God could come up with the money if I stayed here but I am feeling lead to go work for this money, if I work for this then I will learn to appreciate it more when I am there.
War College is based in Canada, Vancouver it is a college based around action rather than sitting behind a desk learning theological ideas so I would recommend it to any one.( War college link/)
Another great thing Vancouver has is snow, I have not seen snow for the last 10 years and so my aim for next year is to build a snowman :P
After finishing War college and building a snowman I will be heading back to HK to hopefully start up a 614 (614network/) which is basically a house church where every body lives.
When I go back to Hk I think I will be getting a one way ticket as no missionary who plans on retreating back to the fleshly comforts of Australia are fully in it for the gospel. besides Hk is really nice.

Church Faces Imminent Destruction of Building - China Aid Association A house church in Yangjianong Village, Qixian Town, Shaoxing County, has received notification from the local government to vacate the church building before December 4, 2006. Approximately 200 Christians have worshipped at this church since 2001. Recently the local government declared that the church be demolished to make room for a park, but refused to arrange a new location for the church. The church is now filing a lawsuit against the county government to prevent the demolition. However, a document issued by Shaoxing demolition administrative office on November 30 states, "The demolition will not be stopped by the administrative review or the lawsuit." Pray the actions of the government be exposed. Pray believers will know even if the building is destroyed that God's Church is indestructible. Revelation 3:8

This is not like my normal posts.
As most of you probably know I used to live in South Australia Adelaide, I will be heading back there in January for 8 months until then God willing going to War College in Vancouver, Canada (http://www.thewarcollege.com) the college is highly respected around the world and will cost $12,000Aus including the flight. I really feel that God is calling me to learn more about him and to come closer to him so that I can truly used in Asia.
Although I do believe that God can come up with this money (Ephesians 3:20) I am feeling lead to work for this money in order to really appreciate the college and get the most out of it. If all goes well I will work 2-3 jobs for the eight months, if any one knows of any work at all I would love to hear about it.

Last night I watched a documentary on a group of Christians in America that taught their children to evangelize, pray and speak out against injustice (abortion).
I have never cared for American politics (slightly pro Bush if any one cares) but this group seems to be aimed at praying for and addressing the politicians to the extent of taking there children to Washington to protest and pray.
America has done a lot of bad things in the education system taking prayer, the Ten commandments and bibles out of public schools it seems however that there is still hope for them. I would encourage every one to try to get hold of this documentary it is called Jesus Camp and very encouraging and informative.

I would just like to praise God today for what he has done this week in my life.
In the last two days 2,500 books went into China!
Two of the group managed to go into China eight times in one day, this is a new record for the amount of runs in one day. The group that helped us had been working in China, Tibet for three weeks and managed to find two days to help us they were from New Zealand. The six people all started crossing at 7am and most finished at 10pm (some finished at midnight)

About a week ago we installed a new washing machine, the left over box was the perfect size for storing 10 boxes of bibles in. That day by the grace of God 200 books went into China in one run and 350 books that day. This is also a new record.

Praise God that he is taking us to new extremes and that one day soon the job will be finished!!! Then we can move on to North Korea.

Now I don't know how this sit's for some people so I'll just say what happened.

Yesterday I decided it was time to take a big bag through, the boarder has been tight recently so we have been taking smaller bags that have more chance of getting into China unnoticed.
When I got up to the China borderI noticed that every one was being told to put their bags onto the scanner and that they had already caught a group of people taking clothing to sell in Shenzhen. Walking up towards the border God suddenly told me to stop and I soon saw why, A couple with a bag bigger than mine were about to walk through, as they started to walk a big argument started up partially in English mostly in Chinese the guy had been sleeping with his Chinese contact. As they argued they walked right past the scanner me right by their side the whole way the customs officials did not want to get involved with the argument and let us all through.

Well for any one who is wondering what happened after my missionary friend was followed.
He is now keeping a low key with the people he gave the books to, he had to get a new China Sim card and stay in Hong Kong for a few days, he is still allowed into China and all seems well. We also took three days off (two of them being the weekend) and now the boarder seems fine.

After spending 3 hours in my place of worship and meditation (Starbucks :P) me and the team stumbled across a Filipino church. This group had got permission to every Sunday block off a whole street in Hong Kong Central and preach the word of God to the thousands of Filipinos that sit in Central, Hong Kong.
Filipino women come to Hong Kong to become domestic helpers earning around HK$3,670 a month minus the $500 Tax for overseas workers they work six days a week and spend all of Sunday in ministry and worship. Most of these believers live and work in a slave like environment being on call 24/7 and earning what is considered a very low wage. They work here because work in the Philippians is even worse and so that they can earn some money for their family back home.

Despite the long hours and low wage I have never experienced people so happy and eager to spread the gospel.

This was an amazing testimony to me and I now feel inspired to spend my time more wisely.

In the next few months I will be working to hopefully earn support for these people to go into full time ministry. If any one can think of any way to do this I would love your ideas.

North Korea is known as the country with the worst persecution in the world Following God is against the law and punishable by death. Voice of the Martyrs have published stated that they are involved in providing scriptures and training leaders. Any one doing this is risking his life to the extreme. Please pray for the safety of every one involved in this project.

Pastor Wang Zaiqing a prominent church leader in China has been arrested and sentenced to 2 years jail for being caught printing bibles and teaching material. he has been charged with "illegal business activities" a strategy used a lot by China officials who do not want to be associated with persecution. Six more pastors in China have had their trial postponed, they are under arrest for being associated with the destruction of a church that was under construction. The trial has been postponed because of a lack of evidence. I do not fully understand this situation but please pray for all severn of these people.

In some countries around the world today, it is against the law either to print or sell or import or distribute the Holy Bible or other Christian literature. How should Christians react to this? The words “against the law” disturb us. Some Christians claim the Bible “smuggling” is wrong because it dishonors scriptures concerning obedience to the government. How far and into what areas does that obedience extend? The following contrasts are presented to illustrate the gap between historical reality and uninformed judgements.
What About Bible “SMUGGLING”?

When the mother of Moses was lovingly hiding her baby in the basket (Exodus 2), one of her church officials knocked on her door and convinced her that her act was “illegal.” Realizing her sin, she surrendered Moses to the authorities. He was killed and the Jews remained in slavery.

When Joseph and Mary, the mother of Jesus, were sneaking Him out of Bethlehem at night (Matthew 2), their friends, representing various religious institutions, reminded them that King Herod would be displeased by their illegal act. They surrendered Jesus. He was murdered with the rest of the children. The angel who had warned and instructed them was informed upon by some irate seminary professors and was tried in absentia and given a five-year prison sentence.

During two Godly authorized jailbreaks (Acts 5 and 12), the Apostle Peter told surprised angels that he must respect the authorities and return to jail. The Christians praying with Rhoda never learned of his miraculous release.

When the jailer took the Apostle Paul into his home after the earthquake (Acts 16), Paul told him that God had made a mistake and they must return to the jailhouse.

When Paul was being lowered in the basket over the wall (Acts 9), one of the men above had second thoughts and grabbing the rope said, “Wait a minute fellas, are you sure this is legal? Didn’t Paul want us to give the authorities our spiritual rights, too?” Paul didn’t get a chance to answer. When the basket jerked to a stop, he had fallen out and broken his neck.

The first few centuries of Christians were very embarrassed that they were called atheists for not worshipping Caesar. They listened to some theological experts who unrestrictedly embraced a few Bible passages about government authority. They turned in their lists of members, gave up their secret (scroll copying) print shops, revealed the addresses of their catacomb meetings and stopped smuggling Bible texts out of respect to the emperor who claimed to be God. In a few months Christianity ceased to exist.

The above illustrations may sound ridiculous or even blasphemous. They are not meant to be. They are based on prevalent attitudes among some Christian circles today about secret Christian work.Isn't that Illegal?I recently gave some high school students a tour of our building describing our work and our five main goals. One of them kindly asked, “Isn’t that Illegal?” A representative of one of the largest Bible printing agencies tells an inquirer at a church service that smuggling Bibles to China is “illegal”.

China is a nation that everyone admits will never have enough Bibles, where there is an estimated 20,000 conversions to Christ per day, a nation where pastors are still beaten and some vomit blood. (Ask us for the China Report.) Giving the Word of God is illegal? We seem to have forgotten that God is legal. Satan is illegal.
A seminary professor in India told all of his students that Christians in prison in Cuba deserve to stay in jail (for distributing Christian literature) because they “broke Cuban law.” Many Christians know little about the survival techniques of two thousand years of Christianity under conflict. Some patently reject persecuted Christians as not the “right kind” from their own denomination. Others have the luxury of relatively comfortable, non-confrontational positions and over generations have fallen victim to religiously compartmentalizing their thinking and living in a theologically “perfect world”, refraining from facing the fact that each Christian is called to be a “partaker of Christ’s sufferings” (I Peter 4:12).The Law of LoveIn an imperfect world there are soul wrenching questions.
We might agree to the fact that William Tyndale had to hide pages of the Bible in bales of cotton to smuggle into England. He was burned at the stake. That is history. Hindsight is comfortable. There is no risk or embarrassment. But what about hiding a bible today? This is when the law of Christ’s perfect love takes effect.
What would we say to a Vietnamese school teacher who hid her Bible under her skirt when police began confiscating Bibles at a meeting in her home? She had brought many non-believers to Christ using the Word of God. Should she submit? Give the authorities her Bible? The police “represent” the law. We are not discussing Greek and Hebrew and “interpretations” in an air-conditioned Bible class. We are discussing real life situations, today. This school teacher is a friend of mine. I have met many such Christians during several visits to Vietnam.
We would probably agree to Christian short-wave radio broadcasts which “smuggle in” the Word of God in spite of the hostile North Korean jamming stations. That is an “easy” decision. No permission is needed. No life is threatened. Smuggling in the printed Word is not so easy. Korean Christians hid rolled-up hymn sheets inside the walls of their houses. How easy is it for them? Smuggle is a negatively loaded work which makes us think of drugs or weapons. Think again.
It is not “legal” to distribute Scriptures or witness about Christ in certain Muslim nations. Jesus said, “Go into all the world.” What will we do with that? Can we visit a few “international church buildings” for foreigners or worship only on protected oil company compounds while millions die in the streets without Christ? What does ALL the world mean? Currently there is one missionary per one million Muslims.
Paul finally went the legal route to execution and God received glory in Rome. Thomas was speared to death in India. He evangelized “without permission” understanding his spiritual authority when he stepped off the ship. Almost all of the disciples died violent deaths with approval of the authorities. Might we risk a statement saying that their acts were considered “illegal”?
What would we say to Christians (in nations where Bibles are totally forbidden for nationals) who secretly use government controlled presses to print Christian literature? In such situations (not “situation ethics”) there is only one law, the laws of love which begins and ends with God and His sacrifice on the cross. Those who do not receive this message are condemned to Hell. Would we tell the Christians to stop printing?Official – UnofficialWhen “official” churches or one printing press exists, many outsiders are deceived. China has a huge Bible press. Yet no other Christian presses are allowed in a nation of one billion two hundred million people. Christians discovered with their own press in Northern China in the early 1990’s were tortured and killed. Their homes were dynamited. If the American government only allowed one Christian press in the USA, would we then raise our spiritual noses in the air and call all other printing “illegal”?
North Korea has two church buildings, Catholic and Protestant in the capitol. No other churches exist in the other cities with an estimated underground Christian population of 60,000. If only one Baptist church was allowed in Dallas, Texas (as was in Moscow for decades) would we call all the other Baptist churches “illegal”?
We hear about “registered” churches and “unregistered” churches in countries where Christians are restricted. We are told that even in America all churches must be registered with the government. That is not true. The IRS has a fourteen point criteria for registration to qualify as a “tax exempt” organization-church. Even without exemption, anyone, anytime can have a church. There is no compulsory church registration in America the way there is in China, Vietnam, Cuba, etc. There is no need to feel guilt when describing the “unregistered church” in some countries. We do not realize that churches in America go through most legal establishment procedures on a voluntary basis.
Many large denominational operations in the West could receive a greater measure of fellowship and love and a more completed view of Christ if they risk forming contact with the persecuted church, even in areas where they have no official representation.
Fidel Castro, the Communist leader of Cuba, had 100,000 Bibles taken to a sugar mill where they were ground up. The leather covers were kept for making purses. A Cuban denominational leader joyfully revealed that at lease fifty percent of all Bibles brought into Cuba these last decades were smuggled by many who dared to intervene. It takes both official and “unofficial”. We thank God for both.Toilet Paper BiblesIn the 1970’s, even though we produced photos showing how “officially presented” Bibles has later been made into toilet paper by the Communists in Eastern Europe, some organizations refused to sell Bibles to us for smuggling. Therefore, our presses in Europe printed 200,000 Bibles for smuggling to four Eastern Europe countries.
Some groups still publish that Bible smuggling is “wrong”. A few engage in insufficient legal printing inside restrictive nations. We encourage anyone to give also to their worthy efforts, but feel that some of their publicity tells only the “official” story. They cooperate with religious and political officials who beat, kill and imprison Christians now, today.
Our news speaks for that other part who have no voice and no Bible. We are thankful that the Lord uses different parts of His body to complete His Work.Breaking the “Law”Can a Christian use deception when confronted with evil? Certainly such situations are plentiful in Scripture. Rehab hiding the spies, etc. Do we write “tourist” on our visa application when our purpose is to deliver the World of God or do we write “Bible Smuggler”? Do you tell rapist where your daughter is hiding? We do not need to feel guilty about such deception, just as King David did not feel guilty for acting crazy and slobbering in his beard so that his enemies would release him.
In Cuba, I was sentenced to a twenty-four year prison sentence under a literature law which had a maximum fifteen-year penalty. They abused their own law. Do we have such christian/political literature laws in our country? Those who feel that secret Christian work in restricted nations is “illegal” do not realize that those nations laws themselves would be illegal in our own nation.
Many restricted nations have wonderful religious freedom laws on their books for their publicity value. The former Soviet Union had such laws while imprisoning or murdering Christian leaders. On the other end, police in Vietnam confiscate Bibles in homes, when no such anti-Bible law exists.
We come from 1,000 year of respecting English law. To make statements that smuggling bibles is breaking “the law” of another nation simply reflects our ignorance of their situation.God's Attitude/Angelic EncouragementIt is good to review and realize the purpose of all of the “illegal” acts in Scripture which God Himself ordained. The purpose is not to protest having a driver’s license, or paying taxes. It is not to focus all our energy on a government as the great enemy. In the light of centuries of humanity and millions dying without Christ, such a focus can easily become a waste of Christian energy.
Paul in Romans 13:5 wrote that the principle in submission to government was to have a good conscience citing civil obedience. Would you have a good conscience if you were against setting God’s Word to those who have not heard in closed countries? We are accountable to God and the government, but to God first. Early Christians respected Caesar’s authority in civil matters but did not submit in matters of worship/spiritual freedom.
For those of us who truly understand this foundation, the statement that Bible smuggling is “illegal” has the same effect as water running down a ducks back. We are usually too busy to worry about it. The idea that it could be illegal to give the word of God to anyone, anytime, anywhere, any way who needs and want it, is sad and a trick of the author of illegality – the Devil.
Acts 5:19-20, 29 clearly demonstrates Gods attitude, Gods actions and our response. The angel disobeyed the authorities telling the apostles to continue to speak “the words of life.” The apostles, greatly encouraged, said to the council, “We ought to obey God rather than men.” Angels throughout the New Testament encouraged men and women to circumvent restrictive situations for the sole purpose of spreading the gospel the same way the Holy Spirit enlightens us today.
Some theologians will argue these Scriptures were special cases for special times. That argument hides the main point. Gods attitude is revealed. What do these few of many such Bible “legal-spiritual confrontation” section reveal about gods attitude and adaptation towards authorities when they inhibit the spread of the Gospel perverting the program of Christ’s Great Commission in Matthew 28? God, who is legal, “bypasses” the devil who is illegal and continues with His program.
Perhaps those who declare secret work in restricted countries illegal do not realize or know about the immediate imprisonment or death today, stretching from North Korea/China across Saudi Arabia over to Algeria for Christians. David Barrett report in The International Bulletin of Missionary Research. January 1994, that there are now about 156,000 martyrs for Christ each year, more than any time in past centuries. We must remember those in bonds as bound with them (Hebrews 13:3). We must “weep with those who weep.” But those who “sow in tears will reap with joy.”

China is still dangerous

Last night at 2am I had an alarming phone call from a missionary friend in China (thank God I was still awake) He had been going through a boarder into China with books and had been caught. Generally this is not a problem but what happened could have endangered allot of people they made him weight a whole hour then told him that he would be allowed to go with the books, almost instantly God told him that he was being followed so he boarded a bus then jumped off a few stops later two under cover PBS officers got off and weighted to see what his next move would be. He than quickly ran to the nearest Taxi and told the guy that the police were after him and that he had to lose them, after about an hour of driving and running he eventually managed to lose them for just enough time to drop off the books and get away. He is now in Hong Kong weighting to see how China will react, they now know house locations and some names. This could mean that he is now on record and will be followed or not allowed into China.
Please pray for this.

Salvation Army China

I am reading the book "Yin the mountain the wind blew here" a story of the Salvation Army movement in China before the communists took over and closed it. I have just got up to the part where Major Yin Hung-shun the last Major of the China Salvation Army has handed over all of the legal documents to the Three self patriotic movement. This was the closing of what had become a major part of the Salvation Army, now keeping in mind that I do have a great respect for Brother Yin who would have faced almost definite death and torture if he had not handed over the Salvation Army imagine with me what would have become of our beloved Salvo's if it had as many other Church's did refused to stop fulfilling the great commission "to spread the gospel." The Salvation Army China would have become and still be an illegal operation funded or scorned by the International headquarters dedicated to spreading justice and God's grace.

Today as I was being driven to our China base I saw something that will stay in my mind for the rest of my life. A young looking girl was lying face down on the side of the main road presumably dead or worse still soon to be, we kept on going as did every one else, it was like no-one noticed her at all.
I had bibles in the boot and if we had stopped 1: I didn't know enough Chinese to be much use and 2: This would involve the police at some stage and really didn't want to be around police whiles my car was full of books.
It was certainly an interesting time looking at this girl and not being able to do anything.
Please pray for this girl it's a prayer that you may never see answered but rest assured God will hear the prayer and answer to your call.

It's amazing how I've managed to miss this verse for so long.God wants Christianity to be fun and not just this fake stuff so many youth groups make up. For a fair while now I've listening to to Hell fire preachers and I couldn't work out why I was not feeling whole, now I know.Now every one knows that Christianity is supposed to be fun but so many people take this Christianity deal so seriously it's no wonder we are losing souls or they force themselves to smile when in church to make every one see what a good christian they are.Forgive me if I sound silly I know this is Christianity 101 but it's great news I can enjoy life and still take bibles to China :)Before my focus was how we needed 50 million books in China but now I can relax and realise God's in control. Life is easy when there are less rules and regulations just the one calling to spread the gospel across the world.Life around here seems so serious some times I think it's time to go have some fun!

Laos:We arrived in Bangkok and boarded the train for the 10 hour journey it was going to take to get to the Laos boarder. The train lit on fire and hit a cow and so the trip took 17 hours. I really praise God for the this time of relaxation where I could sleep, read the bible and worship God. When we finally got there we had to go straight into Laos as we we’re running so late, this was a bit hard on some people but we all pulled together and the first run was a success. Once we had got the bibles into Laos we had an 8 hour bus ride to the underground church, at 4:30am we arrived at the sisters house to deliver the books for which she was really happy. Then I experienced one of the hardest things I’ve seen yet are leader had to ask the sister who was only 27 how many people were in jail, in my job you hear and experience a lot of this sort of things but no-one at that age should have to be asked that question. The rest of the week went well with all of the books being delivered. On the way back the train ahead of us derailed and the trip took 17 hours.

A lot of people have been asking about the trip to Laos and Vietnam and so firstly I must say sorry this took so long to do.

Vietnam:
We arrived in Vietnam late at night with bags that cost us less than a burger and small fries, most of the handles and wheels on the bags had broken or were about to. The drop off was a great success with no problems or hindrance at all. I praise God for this and for all of the prayer received for this trip.
We only stayed one night and left for Bangkok early the next day, I have seen a little bit of Vietnam and it is beautiful, all of the brothers I have met there have been very happy and great to be around.

Through this last week at least one person has been caught each day at the boarder, this is unacceptable for the God that created the world I know he is bigger and better than that :P
So as a team we have decided to take the next two days off and spend it fasting, worshiping and praising God.
Today was great slept in till 9am then prayed for 2 hours, watched killed by the spear a movie about Jim Elliot a missionary/martyr then went down to MonKok to pray for another 2 hours. After that we headed up to the roof for prayer and communion. I have to say if Disneyland was the worst day of the month this has been the best.
If any one is feeling down or things just arent working I would encourage you to take a day off to fast and pray, if you work don't take "a sicky" ring your boss and arrange the day off to pray it will make a good start to saving your boss.

My friends took me out to Hong Kong Disney land yesterday it was a great park and every thing there was fun.
The whole time I was there I couldn't help being convicted by God the tickets cost $60Aus each for $30Aus you can pay for a whole years education of a China child (this is one of the many Salvation Army projects being run in China.) For me the tickets were free but my trip to Disney land was still the worst day of I've had so far this month so many people spending money on self indulgent entertainment when just an hours train ride away people are dieing of starvation.
I have now come to the decision to never go to any theme parks again even if the tickets are free. The whole time I was at the park I not only felt very un-Salvo but more importantly unchristian I just don't think Jesus would be going to a theme park if he was on earth.
If any one wants to hold me to this please do, China has some of the worlds cheapest theme parks and I'd hate to stuff this up

The Law

When Joshua sent two spies to view the land of Jericho, they hid in the house of Rahab the harlot. Rahab’s house was built along the wall of Jericho, a wall constructed to prevent illegal passage of unwelcome visitors. When the king heard the Israeli spies were in town, he immediately sent word to Rahab. He instructed her to bring forth the spies, who had entered her home.

Rahab disobeyed the command of her king and hid the spies, even lying to protect their whereabouts. Later that evening, she secretly smuggled the spies out of the city by lowering them with a long chord through her window and down the wall.
Rahab knew little of the God of Israel, but she was prepared to help his people. She disobeyed her pagan authorities and even placed her life in danger. As a result, her life was spared.
A similar act of smuggling is found in Acts 9:25. Soon after Paul’s conversion, he spent several days with the disciples in Damascus, preaching and teaching in the synagogues. The Jews were so baffled by the change in Paul that they considered him a threat. The disciples lowered him down a wall to clear the city gates and spare his life from the Jews who were conspiring to kill him.

Some Christians believe that disobeying the governing authorities in restricted nations warrants persecution. Are Chinese Christians who refuse to register with the official church deserving of the beatings they endure? In Islamic nations, do Muslims who convert to Christianity deserve to be stoned to death? While certain passages may be interpreted differently, all Christians agree that we cannot allow government to force us to disobey God’s laws. Of course, this does not permit Christians to exercise personal vendettas against the state. Disobedience is only warranted when we are forced to decide between loyalty to Christ and loyalty to the governing laws. Where do you stand on the issue? Study the Scriptures and decide for yourself.

This is a serious request for prayer..
The work here and the time I've been here have been excellent but I've slipped up. At some stage in life I stopped serving God and started serving justice. This has to stop and I would really love some people to get behind me in prayer, this job will never get done by pure human passion it must be done through God 50 million bibles are needed in China only God can do that.
My plan is to prepare the team so they can run themselves and then go away for one month of prayer and fasting to work out what to do from here on please pray for this as I don't want to be an inconvenience to Autumn Rain and need to find a time that is good for them and me.
For any one else involved in mission work please please remember that you serve God not the cause, God is the cause. I take bibles to China for God not for China this is what God deserves he was the one who died on the cross.

I have decided what I want for my birthday, it's a bit self indulgent but the current record for the amount of boarder crossings in one day is 7, this record was created by a 75 year old guy.
It always puts us young guys to shame when we only manage a maximum of 5 (my personal best) I would like to achieve 10 runs in one day.

Spent alot of today being filmed for a promotional video on Autumn Rain, Advertising the need is now an essentual part of Autumn Rains agenda and we all speak at church's as often as we can fit (by the way I will be speaking in England during March if any one would like to have me.)

I found myself thinking "what a waste of money that money could go into missions" (being a guy I am a bit biased to these things) It really made me wonder about what I'm wasting my money on and how it could be spent. 2 weeks ago I had the privilege of taking a team out to Vietnam with about 150 bibles the trip was a great success and I'm pleased to tell you that despite the fact that the international church was closed down due to it saving to many locals, Vietnam is opening up and persecution is happening less and less.

The whole team was at the boarder of North Korea last week. We didn't get to go in but it was a great time to pray for the country and meet people involved in helping out the people.

The country is slowly opening up to the outside world but there remain economic pressures and widespread famine. About two-thirds of the population would profess to be non- religious (as it is law to worship KIM Jong Il the ruler)
Less than 2% are said to be Christian. Today there are 3 ‘show’ churches in the capital Pyongyang and it is estimated a number of believers worship in secret house churches.

Just got from Nam yes that communist country the Americans forgot..... Sorry just going there and seeing the country in the state that it is and realising that America agreed to fix the country after the war and pulled out at the last minute kind of gets to me. I'll drop in some photo's when I get a chance.
The delivery was excellent all 140 of the books got into the country and we managed to make some valuable friends and start to discuss new ventures (hope to tell you about them some time soon)
But here's the real reason behind this blog, Vietnam has many different tribal languages and the bible for each tribe needs to be couriade into the country. However the bible in the official Vietnamese text is now legally printed due to international pressure, that's not to say that Christianity is legal yet but it's a great start.
One Vietnamese bible costs 31,976.00 Dong which is to expensive for the local people but only $2us. Does any one have a youth group that would like to put in some money to purchase bibles? If you do please drop me an E-mail and I'll give you my contacts account details.

Have just finished praying for North Korea where 75% of the children are dieing of starvation and Christians are killed for their faith a lot. It got me thinking the cost for taking bibles into North Korea is simple if you get caught you probably get shot at this made me think about whether or not I was ready for that. The verse take up your cross and follow me really takes a spin when you consider what the cross is.... slow painful death.

Vietnam

Vietnam and Laos are currently holding 158 American prisoners of War from the Vietnam war. It seems that at the end of the war America promised several million Dollars to help rebuild the country but never paid up, Vietnam then started keeping POW's to use as leverage so that America would keep it's side of the deal. Now America denies that there are any POW despite the fact that many people (including one of my personal friends) have seen these prisoners in Laos and Vietnam.
So some body tell me this, does the Salvation Army have a secret division and if not Y not. This job seems to fit all Salvo criteria fighting for justice and spreading the gospel where churches just don't.

Not a cry for money

Met up with one of the top organisations the other day and they said the saddest thing.
They have 102,000 bibles and 4 million pastors asking bibles and we have the means to move 1250 books a day. However they don't have the budget to ship the bibles once there in China and nether do we!!! The only thing stopping the bibles from getting to pastors is money, please pray for this issue.

I Was shopping in a hardware shop called B and Q (some English shop) with one of our contacts and told him I would come back here some time to make a "spud gun" those of you that know me will know that I own one spud gun and one golf ball launcher back home and I'm kind of missing the funness of it all...... Seriously missing Aus right now.
Moved the office today to make it a bit safer, had to move 80 boxes then go back into Hong Kong to move 150 boxes so seriously tired.
God is allowing use an amazing blessing at the boarder we are getting an amazingly large amout across the boarder and have seen 7 people come to the Lord in the last two weeks.

In a report, 23 year-old sister Zhao Yan recalls how she was treated by her interrogator Mr. Qiu Yunfei after she was arrested for having a bible study with two American seminary students at Zaoyang city, Hubei province on August 2, 2005:
After a few words he slapped me in the face and kicked me to the ground. He ordered me to kneel on the ground and cuffed my two thumbs. He then let me raise my arms and keep them level. He again slapped me across the ears. He also hit me with a leather belt on my mouth. He took the drinking glass on the table and smashed it on my arm…He then kicked my cuffed hands. I rolled around on the floor; the cuffs were eating into my flesh. When the cuff on my right thumb became loose he put it on my two forefingers. Again he wanted me to hold up my hands. Whenever I lower my arms he burned me with a cigarette butt. The head of the Security Bureau, Zhang Xujin, also entered the room. He scolded me and severely kicked my left leg. He also severely kicked my two hands around on the muddy floor. Afterwards he wanted me to raise my hands up. He grabbed the cuffs and dragged me forward and up. My fingers simply wanted to break. I was continually tortured like this. Zhao was later pressured into signing false documents before she was released.

Print Fact Sheet On November 8, 2005 Pastor Cai Zhuohua, a prominent Beijing house church leader was sentenced to three years in jail on charges relating to ‘illegal business practices’ and fined 150,000 yuan (18,500 USD). His wife Xiao Yunfei was sentenced to two years and fined 120,000 yuan. Her brother Xiao Gaowen was given an 18 month sentence and fined 100,000 yuan. Just days before this verdict, a leading Chinese law firm was ordered to suspend all operations for one year. This firm was actively involved in many human rights cases including the case of Pastor Cai and family.Cai was arrested September 11, 2004 at a bus stop, where he was dragged into a van by state security officers. The prosecution of his case was reportedly arranged directly by the Department of State Security. Authorities were shocked to find more than 200,000 pieces of printed Christian literature including Bibles in a storage room managed by Cai. Even though Pastor Cai had a business registered with the Chinese government, the business did not have a license to print religious material. The severe charges were brought against this pastor and family even though the material was not sold for profit but was given out freely. China Aid learned that Pastor Cai had been tortured with electric cattle prods to force a confession after his arrest in September, 2004. The U.S. Embassy sent an observer to the first hearing for this case held July 2005 but entrance was denied. Religious persecution by the government appears to be increasing as the Olympics are approaching. Chinese professor Bob Fu and his wife held secret Bible studies in remote villages. The inhabitants’ hunger for God’s Word never ceased to amaze him.
One memorable trip began with a twelve hour bus ride on which a church leader stood in front of the broken window for hours to keep the rain out so that Fu could rest. The next night, they drove a small van on rough, muddy roads until the van got stuck; then they drove a tractor for hours in the pouring rain until the tractor also got stuck. After that, they walked all night by the light of the moon, slipping and falling in the muddy fields. They arrived early the next morning to a warm welcome. Villagers began arriving at the house church to pray for two hours before the service. Some had walked fifty miles just to hear God’s Word. The house had no chairs, so the church members sat on rocks or pieces of wood. In this area, they had another blessing: It was too difficult for the police to follow. For a few days, they could worship freely! Each had overcome extreme travel conditions to worship, and none considered it a sacrifice. They just had a desire like David, who was drawn to worship with every fiber of his being.

For those in restricted nations, church is not optional; it is essential. In contrast, in free nations many people make up their minds each week whether or not they will attend church. Do they have time? Is it raining? Would they rather sleep late? What’s the sermon topic anyway? Shamefully, we often run through a gamut of questions trying to decide whether church is worth our time. For David and others, going to meet with God was a no-brainer. In fact, they would not let anything keep them from it. When is the last time you asked God to give you a desire for worship like this? Ask him today, and make plans to attend church this week and meet with God.

Was talking to an old friend of mine the other day. He was telling me that he was frustrated with the amount of time he was wasting on TV. I suggested that he should just throw it out and he was realy taking back by the concept. He justified his TV by saying that he watched Hillsong sometimes.
So let me give my viewpoint on this... If your watching more TV than your bible throw it out, if your using TV for worship less than anything else on TV throw it out. Pretty much throw it out, to many people are going to hell to waste to be wasting time on TV.

I was watching an interview with Ravenhill (if you guy's don't know he was a preacher that ran prayer meetings in America and saw a revival http://www.sermonindex.net/modules/mydownloads/viewcat.php?cid=1) Ravenhill said this amazing thing about the Salvation Army and now I can't find it to quote it as soon as I find the quote I'll change this blog so it's more accurate but here's the gist:
Lenerd Ravenhill met a man who used to work alongside William Booth, this guy heard about a man with who was creating a revival up in Wales so he thought to himself I can go up on Friday night after work then be back in time for church on Sunday. When he got there he was so blown away by the presence of God that he thought maby I'll go back to London on Monday not Sunday... he got back to London the next Saturday and nervously walked into the Salvation Army headquarters knowing that he had not shown up for work all week.
Here's where it gets amazing "Where have you been all week" William Booth asked (ish) and this guy started to tell William Booth about this man up in Wales who was preaching in random churches and how God was moving in a mighty way "The Salvation Army used to be like that" was Booth's reaction "we've become to commercial, we need to go back to the old way's"
If the founder of the Salvation Army said it then it's good enough for me. We must not become a userfriendy church or a user friendly Charity, we must be the Salvation Army.

Have gone to my first church meeting at my new church. I know belong and attend an AOG church that speaks no English. They welcomed me and when I told them that I was a carrier for China they seemed OK with it. I am going to this church as I feel lead to it.
Some things I should make clear I was and still am a member of the Ingle Farm Salvation Army but as a christian I need to be accountable and lead by a church this is the one I have chosen.

Let me tell you why:
I was prayer walking the area one night when I ended up out side this church I looked at it for a while and God told me this was to be the church I would go to. I told him I did not know the way to get there and if he would help me find it again I would make it my church, a few weeks later I was riding around the town and came across this very same church I asked a few locals when the meeting was and left. After that I was sent to Thailand for a while as soon as I got back I went to the church.
I belive God has a plan for me in this church.

I just found out that the uniform costs $600 Aus!!! How can we be a ministry to the poor if we expect that much for the uniform? Do we expect to save poor people or not.
This link is to a realistically priced uniform I would advise that you use until I can find something cheaper.
